CME On-Call
Fill shifts fast with workers you trust.
CME On-Call lets employers post urgent or scheduled shifts and notify trusted worker pools. Workers respond in minutes, employers pick the best fit, and everyone is protected by Ontario labour compliance built right into the system.
How It Works
From pool setup to shift completion in five steps.
Create Pools
Organize workers by role — bartenders, servers, kitchen staff. Each pool maps to a specific role at your business.
Build Your Roster
Sync verified employees automatically, invite followers and past applicants, or approve join requests from nearby workers.
Post a Shift
Set the role, time, location, hourly rate, and break info. All pool members are notified instantly.
Workers Respond
Workers mark themselves available (with an optional message) or decline. Responses are ranked by speed and On-Call score.
Select & Review
Pick the best worker from the response queue. After the shift, leave a review that updates their On-Call score.
Trust Cascade
On-Call notifications flow through three layers, prioritizing workers with the strongest relationship to your business.
Verified Employees
Current employees with verified employer associations who are marked On-Call eligible. These are your most trusted workers.
Interest Network
Company followers, past applicants, talent pool members, and past employees. Workers who already have a relationship with your company.
Public On-Call
Workers who browse and request to join your pools. Filtered by proximity (within 5 km) and must already follow your company.
Built-In Compliance
Every shift posted through CME On-Call includes the information workers need, aligned with Ontario Employment Standards Act requirements.
Hourly Rate
Every shift must include the hourly rate. Workers see the rate prominently before deciding to respond. No surprises.
Break Time
Employers set break duration when posting. The system reminds them that shifts over 5 hours require a minimum 30-minute break under the ESA.
Cancellation Policy
Each shift has a cancellation notice window (24, 48, or 72 hours). Cancelling within the window triggers 3-hour minimum pay under the ESA on-call provisions.
Dress Code & Equipment
Employers can specify what workers need to bring or wear, so they arrive prepared and ready to work. No confusion on shift day.
Worker Pools
Pools are role-based groups of workers ready to fill shifts. Build them with people you trust.
Sync Verified Employees
Automatically add employees who have verified their association with your company and are marked On-Call eligible.
Invite Workers
Invite company followers, past applicants, talent pool members, and past employees directly from your dashboard. They accept or decline.
Join Requests
Workers who follow your company and live within 5 km can browse your pools and request to join. You approve or decline each request.
Role-Based Organization
Create separate pools for each role — bartenders, cooks, servers, hosts. When you post a shift, you assign it to the right pool.
On-Call Score
Every worker has an On-Call score (0–10) that reflects their reliability. Employers see this when choosing who to select for a shift.
Score Formula
Score is clamped between 0.0 and 10.0. New workers start at 5.0. Employers also see response time and total completed shifts.
Tier Limits
On-Call availability depends on your employer subscription tier.
| Tier | Pools | Workers/Pool | Shifts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | — | — | — |
| Starter | 1 | 5 | 2/week |
| Growth | Unlimited | 25 | Unlimited |
| Pro | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Pro tier includes AI-assisted worker prioritization and cross-location pools.

Getting Into a Pool
There are three ways to join an On-Call pool: your employer adds you directly, an employer invites you (check the Invitations tab), or you browse nearby employers and request to join (the Nearby Pools tab). To browse, you must follow the company and live within 5 km.
Responding to Shifts
When a shift is posted, you get a notification. Open the Available Shifts tab to see shift details — role, time, location, hourly rate, break, and dress code. Mark yourself available with an optional message, or decline. Respond quickly — employers see response time in the selection queue.
Building Your Score
Your On-Call score starts at 5.0 and goes up with completed shifts (+0.5 each). No-shows cost you heavily (-2.0). Show up on time, complete your shifts, and your score rises — making you more likely to get selected for future shifts.
